Disney World, day 6

First of all I know it is two days after Christmas and I haven't blogged anything current for the last month. I will update once I am done w/ Disney. I know, I am a bad blogger.

On this day Jayden and I left Trinity behind at the hotel (it's okay, she didn't want to go) and we took a bus to Kennedy Space Center. It was a great time to go because it was only two days until the launch of space shuttle Endeavour.

Our first stop was the Astronaut Hall of Fame.

Then we went to the Visitor Center and took the bus tour. The first stop was the Observation Gantry. From here we could see the launch pad and learn about shuttle launches.

Here is the launch pad. The shuttle is on it, but you can't see it from our angle. You can see the external tank (red) and one of the solid rocket boosters (white).

Here is the Crawler transporter. It moves the shuttle from the Vehicle Assembly Building (in the distance) to the launch pad.

This was the second stop on the tour, the Saturn V rocket. This was used in several of the Apollo missions.

And the last stop on the tour was the International Space Station Center. This is where parts of the Space Station are built before being loaded on the space shuttle.

On the way back to Disney, I got a call from an old friend, DJ James. He asked me where I was and I said Orlando. He asked if I'd been to an IMAX movie that day. I may have freaked out a bit. He told me he was sitting a few rows behind Jay and I during the movie and couldn't catch up to us after. So we invited him to meet us for dinner at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney. Before we met up w/ DJ, we found a really cool sports store. Yes, he tried on a hat of some sort in every store we went in and yes, I took a picture of each.

After dinner, we hung out in Downtown Disney. We checked out this cool store with unusual collectors items. Lots of original band memorabilia. Here is an autographed picture of Abraham Lincoln...check out the price.

And as we passed another store, some guy gave Jayden this light saber.
